VITA Volunteers
Volunteer Tax Preparer Become a Volunteer Tax Preparer at one of several VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Sites throughout San Diego County. VITA is a national program that provides free tax preparation assistance to low- and moderate- income individuals and families. This is an extremely meaningful and powerful opportunity to help people in our community get more money back in their pockets for essential items like housing, utilities, food, and healthcare. Being a Volunteer Tax Preparer is a great way to give back to the community, gain financial knowledge and experience, and work directly with the community. All volunteers will go through training to become IRS-certified to prepare taxes, receive guidance and support from expert staff, and create a schedule that works for them. There is no age requirement.
