Opportunity Details
Readers in the Heights @ Copley-Price YMCA
Research shows students regress in their learning over the summer when they’re out of school. Summer learning loss, or summer slide, is particularly severe for students from low-income households. Low-income students, on average, lose up to two months in reading achievement during the summer. Programs–like Readers in the Heights, which keep students learning over the summer, can greatly mitigate this learning loss. As a volunteer at Readers in the Heights, you will work one on one with students to improve literacy and help them discover the joy of reading!
Age Minimum (with Adult): 15+, Minimum Age:16+
