Readers in the Heights 1:1 Reading

Readers in the Heights brings summer literacy enrichment opportunities to City Heights elementary students. By using a curriculum aligned with the San Diego Unified School District and training summer providers in literacy best practices, this initiative keeps students learning over the summer months while they still have fun! In addition to literacy-based activities, students benefit from taking trips to their local library, enjoying a field day to the San Diego Police Department, and bringing home books to build their own libraries. Help students, kindergarten through third grade, keep active and learning all summer long at Readers in the Heights, June 24–August 16. Readers in the Heights is a 4-week summer literacy initiative with reading and vocabulary activities to keep kids engaged.
